SHE Officer - Port Elizabeth

Primary Purpose

The SHE Officer works closely with the Safety, Health and Environment Manager as well as the SHE Team in coordinating, developing, implementing, controlling, auditing, and monitoring SHE activities such as SHE policies, Management Systems, standards and Project specific SHE value propositions.


Key Performance Areas

  • Update and maintain the safety, health, wellness and environment management information system.Update and maintain significant incident database including recordkeeping and data analysis.
  • Schedule and coordinate health and hygiene surveys and assist with wellness days.
  • Provide general SHE information and advice.
  • Monitor and report on trends in implementation of corrective and preventative actions and recommendations from incidents, audits, and investigations
  • Establishing and maintaining Legal Requirements and Registers (Acts/Regulations)
  • Develop SHE procedures and instructions.
  • Develop and coordinate SHE awareness activities competitions and presentations
Academic Qualifivation:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • National Diploma Safety and/or Environmental Management: preferred BTech/B Degree
  • SAMTRAC - Essential
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment

Experience:

  • 3-5 Years - Related Work Experience
  • 1-2 years relevant experience in the implementation of ISO: 45001 systems
  • Must have auditing experience conducting and undergoing audits
