We are looking for an Safety, Health and Environmental Officer (SHE Officer) to join our dynamic team. Administrative Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics Incidents and Accidents Record and investigate SHE incidents to determine causes and handle worker's compensation claims. Update the SHE incident registers. Risk Assessments Assist Management with Environmental Aspects and Impacts and to assist with Hazardous Identification Risk Assessments. Develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans Monitoring and Measurement Conduct internal audits to identify SHE risks and non-compliance to the company's OHS Management Systems including the Environmental Management Systems. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the SHE management systems and make improvements where necessary. Recording and monitoring of Environmental Performance Indicators. Ensure that SHE Objectives and targets are established, monitored and reviewed. Training Conduct internal SHE trainings including SHE inductions. Organize relevant SHE trainings with service provides. Raise awareness of Safety, Health, and Environmental issues within the organization. Documentation, Reports and Processes Develop and implement Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures. Recording and monitoring of Environmental Performance Indicators. To prepare reports on the company's SHE performance. Legal Requirements Ensure that all Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental legislations are adhered to. Ensure that appropriate Legal Appointments are available and updated when required. Emergency preparedness and response Implement and maintain procedures to identify potential emergency situations and potential accidents that can have an impact on the environment and on the Health and Safety of the employees. Communication Conduct monthly SHE meetings and Toolbox Talks. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on SHE related issues Matric Degree/B-Tech in safety management or Environmental Management or relevant field is preferred Skills & competencies Occupational Health and Safety Management systems ISO 45001:2018 Environmental Management systems ISO 14001:2015 Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Accident and Incident investigation techniques Ability to develop and implement SHE policies and procedures.
