Our well known mining client in Mooinooi is currently recruiting for a SHEQ Specialist environmental Description To provide a service to the business unit through the auditing, evaluation, verification, advising and support of the group’s existing Environmental Management Systems, further to in terms of continual improvement, align with and bring about compliance to relevant legislation, codes of practice, recognised best practices, standards, rules and internal policies and thereby bring about alignment to our objective to achieve Zero Harm. SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY Manage SHEQ compliance within the process through effective use of the Toolbox. Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report on the site’s Environmental status. CUSTOMERS Liaise with all departments within the business units in terms of issues identified and foster a good working relationship through interactive communication and demonstration of cooperation to bring about a high level of customer satisfaction. Liaise with the authorities and consultants on Environmental matters as per company’s communication procedure. BUSINESS PROCESSES Provide guidance and support required to achieve the intended outcomes and promote compliance to SHEQ requirements. Identify Environmental aspects and impacts, compile or update the risk register and the associated Issue Based Risk assessments for the business unit. Identify legal requirements, apply for and or renew permits and licences. Monitor behaviour in line with expectations. Develop learning interventions to support implementation and improvement of the Environmental Management System requirements and facilitate Environmental training courses. Coordinate external audits, conduct internal audits and monitor and report closure on audit findings including audits against ISO 14001:2015 and Environmental Authorizations Facilitate environmental monitoring activities i.e., air, water, biomonitoring, waste and noise monitoring. Report on the performance of site’s Environmental Management Systems and make recommendations on findings. Investigate environmental incidents and participate in actual level 2 and 3 and potential level 4 significant incident investigations. Report on environmental statistics and information Compile, review and submit statutory documents and environmental reports. Contractor and project management Serve as the site’s Hazardous Materials Management champion. Monitor the storage, handling and disposal of chemicals. Requirements Minimum qualifications: Degree or Diploma in Environmental Management 4 year's relevant experience Additional qualifications Environmental Management Systems ISO14001 Audit: Lead Auditor would be advantageous.
