We are seeking a dedicated, solution orientated Shipping Controller – Multimodal based at our client site in JHB. Plan the freight movement of imported cargo (air and sea) Monitor the Import / Export process and assist in preparation of documents as per as per agreement on key accounts Coordinate freight movement and customs clearance of air / sea import cargo Administration of shipment file Effect creditors disbursements and process debtor's invoices Co-ordinate the customs clearance of bond store cargo Service clients to ensure that clients' needs are achieved Verify charges on clearing agent's invoice are correct Issue forwarding and clearing instructions Comply with the requirements of the quality management system Comply with the requirements of the Customs Accreditation System Experience 3 years import experience in the Clearing and Forwarding Industry in an import / export capacity Multimodal experience required – both air and sea Mandatory 5-day onsite requirements – Monday to Friday Offsite at Röhlig-Grindrod offices – dedicated to customer portfolio. Full dedication to customer when onsite and offsite. Own vehicle for travel purposes. Commercial, transport, carrier & depot and statutory body documents & stamps Product specific freight handling & movement requirements Basic international trade principles. INCO Terms Applicable sections of Import & Export control Act. Geography Carrier & depot conditions of trade Tariff calculation concepts. National currencies and international codes Computer literacy (MS Office) Good Interpersonal skills. Situation analysis and problem solving Good communication skills (written &verbal. Client orientation Accuracy, Punctual and attention to detail Qualification Grade 12 Certificate 1-year freight forwarding related qualification at NQF level 3 and 5 or equivalent
