Site Manager / Logistics / Operations Manager PLUMBING - Cape Town City Centre

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL TASKS
  • Reports to Logistics Manager
  • Runs multiple projects as required
  • Understanding production requirements, and effectively communicating this with team.
  • Together with Logistics Manager set and ensure weekly production targets are met.
  • Supervise the installation, repair and maintenance of required plumbing works.
  • Plan, schedule and assign the activities of the required plumbing team.
  • Establish work standards, production control, job priorities, quality control, as well as preventative maintenance teams.
  • Support Logistics Manager in determining the types and quantities of materials required.
  • Assist staff with more difficult and complex projects or source outside expertise.
  • Ensure all staff clock in / out as required and communicate transgression with team.
  • Interact with related trades in general to efficiently finalize plumbing work.
  • Interact with professional team (Principle Agent, architect, engineers, quantity surveyors.
  • Attend formal meetings punctually as required.
  • Ensure HSE file / documents / toolbox talks / medicals are strictly up to-date / complete.
  • Communicate / enforce company Rules / Code of Conduct / HSE requirements.
  • Ensure HSE toolbox talks held, signed off, and copies submitted to HSE Officer.
  • Communicate transgression of Rules/Code of conduct / HSE requirements with office asap
  • Ensure correct ordering, issuing and wearing of PPE.
  • Record site incident reports correctly / completely / immediately.
  • Site security (securing of plant / materials / theft / reporting of incidents).
  • Assist with timeously claims submission
  • Maintain plumbing tools and equipment (incorporating registry & safety of equipment)
  • Perform / supervise related work as required eg tiling, plastering, etc
  • Assist with compilation of Completion Documents, warranties, etc
  • Make As-built sketches of plumbing layouts.
  • Maintain records and files; prepare reports.
  • Ensure company cellphones, tablets, laptops are in proper working order.
  • Ensure all company vehicles personally driven are maintained in proper working order.
  • All vehicle faults to be reported, with repairs planned immediately.
  • Facilitate performance appraisal discussions with your team.
  • Ongoing performance management of your team ensuring they deliver to company, client and industry standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Thorough knowledge of the common practices, tools and terminology of the plumbing trade
Thorough knowledge of the use and characteristics of common plumbing equipment
Thorough knowledge of the hazards & safety precautions associated with the trade
Skilled in the use of all required tools and equipment;
Ability to work from sketches, architectural drawings, plans, schedules, emails, or specifications
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to plan and supervise the work of others
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

IOPSA / PIRB / CoCT Registered Plumbing qualification - essential
Ensure requirement for maintaining above qualifications are continuously met
The Site Agent may be required to attend related courses / additional training, as is deemed necessary in future.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

No criminal record
Possession of a valid drivers license. Apply Now
