The Key Purpose of this role is to shape the regulatory environment through public policy advocacy and engagement with critical stakeholders. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the development of strategic public policy initiatives across South Africa Understanding, monitoring and scenario planning of the local regulatory and legislative environment Development, implementation and execution of regulatory campaign plans and strategies Stakeholder mapping and classification, including execution of stakeholder engagement plans Define, develop, adapt, pivot, and lead projects within the SAB public policy landscape Serve as business and strategic partner for the organization concerning regulatory amendments and changes Drive business awareness of emerging regulatory issues and trends through cross-functional engagement and training Minimum Requirements: Degree in International Relations, Politics and/or Law Completed Postgraduate degree will be advantageous 8 years of experience preferably in a regulated or FMCG industry Key Competences: Ability to identify, understand, and manage in a positive way the needs of colleagues and stakeholders to achieve goals. Demonstrated Interpersonal, creativity & strong negotiation skills. Ability to identify and tackle problems by building mutually acceptable solutions that meet the needs of both parties. Strategic thinking, High EQ (needs to interact and work with different functional perspectives). Strong collaboration & adaptability skills. Ability to adjust to changing situations, environments, and circumstances. Demonstrated ability to work optimally with others, form relationships, and achieve common goals.
