Social/Digital Creative Director - Johannesburg

To lead the digital/ social creative delivery across multiple brands and creatively lead some of the predominantly digital/ social brands. Key Task Take ownership of the social deliverables for some brands. Ensures that social deliverables for these brands are being met. Have a working knowledge of digital platforms in order to work on, or with them as needs require - e.g. web development platforms, shopper platforms (Takealot, Superbalist etc.). Extensive experience in the social media platforms, rules and behaviours that give the best chance at success, including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok etc. Design appreciation and the ability to judge best practise CX and, at times, UX and UI. An understanding of SEO, paid media formats, and the world of Apps. Copy appreciation and the ability to inspire great outputs from both traditional and digital writers in the pursuit of excellent social and digital creative. Using social listening and the relevant SL tools to support insights and creative output. Keen understanding and appetite for data and using data to inform creative. Must be a storyteller in content land. Take leadership of some of the social / digitally oriented brands as the CD in charge. Partner with fellow CD's to help them better deliver social and digital requirements of their brands. Drive excellence into the culture of the social and content teams in the agency. Interact with clients partnering with them to deliver world-class creative outcomes. Partner with account management and strategy to interpret briefs to deliver world class creative work. Help to define and drive social KPI's according to client requirements. Partner with brand and digital strategists to create and curate briefs for excellent creative outcomes. Report monthly with the digital team on KPI's determined for each brand. Mentor, guide and grow a can-do, close-knit team and supportive culture throughout the agency and partner operating companies and suppliers. Create and curate client presentations that are both compelling and creative and effective. Ensures award-winning work by leading the delivery of outstanding, original and innovative work for clients. Takes responsibility for some aspects of people management across the creative function within Social and Content, including performance management, capability development, remuneration, career development and deployment. To partner with the other CDs effectively in leading the business from a creative perspective. To foster a culture of integration and "digital first" at Grey, and to enhance the company's reputation as a place of and for digital and social expertise. Requirements: Qualifications: A diploma or degree in design or digital/ social marketing is a plus, but not essential. 7-12 years' experience. Senior / Group head or CD experience. Excellent standard of written and spoken English. Experience: Digital campaign roll-out. A digital 'native' with awareness of existing and emerging digital channels. Deep social expertise across all popular social platforms. Some tech or dev experience a plus. Data and analytics understanding and interpretation a must (utilising Crimson Hexagon or similar). Content creation oversight (TV/Video/copy/audio/gif/stills etc.) experience required. Ability to manage multiple projects of varying difficulties concurrently.
