SOFTWARE DEVELOPER - Johannesburg

• • Grade 12
    Bachelors Degree in computer science or equivalent (NQF Level 7)
  • Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) Software Engineer is required
  • Azure Qualification is required
  • 5 years experience in Software programming or development
  • Programming (ASP, Net, WCF, C#, MVC, Html, CSS, jQuery, Bootscrap
  • Knowledge of SQL and Dev Operations
  • Knowledge of horse racing/tote rules, horse racing and betting products is beneficial but not compulsory
  • Detail orientated and a high level of accuracy, numerical skills
  • Analytical mindset and solving complex problems using logical thinking
  • Project management and software development lifecycles

Responsibilties:

• Design, develop and maintain software applications based on business requirements and technical specifications
• Write clean, efficient and well documented code using appropriate programming languages and frameworks
• Translate user requirements and design specifications into functional software features
• Implement software
• Assist in the deployment of software into staging and production environments
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support, including troubleshooting and bug fixes
• Provide end user documentation of application functionality
• Conduct unit testing, integration and debugging to identify and resolve software defects
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure software quality and performance
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks in software applications
• Optimize code and database for improved speed and efficiency
• Assist with continuous improvement and stay updated on emerging technologies, coding practices and industry trends to continuously enhance
• Assist with adhoc duties as per operational requirements
