Our client in the health sector is seeking a Software Testing Engineer in Cape Town for a hybrid position. This opportunity entails a 1-year contract. As a Software Test Engineer, you'll contribute to the development of enterprise-level software aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the province, with a focus on managing person-level health data. This pivotal role involves collaborating with a diverse team to build reliable, interoperable, and open-source software solutions. Coordinate test design, documentation, and strategies based on business requirements. Ensure software components meet quality standards and business needs. Drive quality control and test plan execution in agile sprints. Identify areas of code quality improvement and work with the team to address them. Maintain and enhance automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium Webdriver, DB plugins, mock services, Playwright, etc.). Contribute risk management insights during sprint planning. Enhance software delivery processes based on agile principles and best practices. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of software testing experience in collaborative software teams. Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL). Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools, including Selenium WebDriver, DB plugins, mock services, Playwright, etc. Familiarity with web services (XML, JSON, REST, WCF) and agile/scrum methodologies.
