Solar Installations Sales Representative (Jetpark) - Johannesburg

Our Client sells and installs a wide range of solar products in a vibrant and growing industry. They offer customers turnkey solutions on the installation of household, commercial and industrial solar systems as well as geyser conversions and solar pump installations. The work is varied from new builds, add-ons, and conversions on existing equipment.

We are looking for an individual who has strong sales skills and experience and will be required to do site inspections, meeting with customers to specify the correct products, identify any possible problems and quote the customers accordingly. We currently cover the Gauteng region and travel within this area will be extensive. In-depth product understanding and electrical regulations is required to ensure we quote accurately. Training will be provided, and you will be required to operate in a very systematic process. Great computer skills is a must as all quoting, specifying and presentations need to be done professionally and sent to customers electronically.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customers in a professional manner, at all times.
  • Strong communication skills with both customers, support staff and installation teams.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements when conducting a site visit.
  • Site-Visits whereby all relevant information is collected on-site in order to compile a comprehensive and accurate quotation for the customer. Clamping might be required.
  • Create quotations and presentations for potential customers and present these to customers. - Produce reports when requested.
  • Work with customers budgets and find the best solution for their situation.
  • Ensure that you comply with the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Produce comprehensive report on the site so the installation teams know what was discussed.
  • Always maintain a high level of professionalism as a representative of the company.
  • Complete the necessary paperwork required before and after a site visit.
  • Account for all equipment on-site after a site visit.
  • Look after and maintain order with the company vehicle.
  • Look after all company property.
  • Explaining the layout and installation prior to installation with the technical assistant.
  • Work with internal sales team to ensure all relevant site visits and quotations are actioned.
  • Attend monthly sales meetings with all the sales reps and provide any feedback needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales, ideally in the solar energy sector or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Afrikaans, with the ability to explain complex technical details in simple terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to conduct site visits adhering to these guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using sales and reporting tools, such as pipe drive.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • A commitment to promoting renewable energy solutions and providing exceptional customer service.
