Solar Project Manager - Paarden Eiland, Cape Town Market Related - South Africa

This is a full-time on-site role as a Solar Project Manager located in City of Cape Town but includes travel to project sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the successful implementation of all renewable energy projects undertaken by the company, including project managing the engineering, procurement, and construction stages of the implementation phase. The role includes assistance with the business development and, post implementation, operations, and maintenance management. The position requires clear and effective communication internally and externally. Reviewing project pipeline in terms of available company and sub-contractor resources. Review tender contractual documents to establish any potential risks, prior to submission of tender proposals. Review project letters of award and contractual documents, prior to company acceptance of same, to further establish any potential risks. Ensure a complete understanding of project contractual requirements and ensure that measures are in place to mitigate any potential risk. Assist with contract negotiations with clients and suppliers. • Establish and nurture relationships with project client representatives, to ensure a high level of trust. Develop and maintain the project programme and submit weekly reports to the client's representative. In conjunction with engineering and procurement teams, determine which equipment, materials, and service providers would be most suitable for projects. Establish effective relationships with project suppliers and service providers, to ensure the best quality, pricing, and service levels are maintained. Setting priorities for project teams and deadlines for returnables such as reports, project timelines, quality records, and budget target and reviews. Ensure that project safety requirements are adhered to, and project safety documentation is in place. Ensure that construction teams adhere to construction timelines and quality requirements. Ensure that project claims for extension of time and variations in price are submitted in a timely manner. Follow up to ensure that the procurement and delivery of goods to site takes place effectively. Supporting construction teams with addressing on-site issues. KPIs nsure projects are implemented within deadline, budget, and to the required quality standards. Ensure that no project damages for delay or system performance are inflicted on the company. Ensure that project information is accurate and communicated to the client representative in a timely manner. Ensure that the project client is satisfied with the company's overall performance in completing the project. Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, project management, business administration, or a related field. • PMP certification is a plus. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management for solar energy and energy storage projects in the southern African region Strong technical understanding of solar energy and energy storage. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, service providers, engineers, and stakeholders. Attention to detail. Strong command of the English language (written and verbal).
