Our client is currently seeking a skilled Solar Technician to join their team in Johannesburg. The Solar Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing solar systems. Responsibilities Installing solar panels and associated equipment according to specifications Performing routine maintenance and repairs on solar systems Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues with solar systems Inspecting and evaluating solar system performance Ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards Keeping accurate records of maintenance and repair work Collaborating with team members to complete projects and meet deadlines Requirements • BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering/BSc or BTech in Electrical Engineering • 4-8 years of working experience working with renewable energy industry, preferably in Solar PV. • Strong analytical problem-solving skills. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong facilitation skills. • Self-driven with high motivation for achievement. • Ability to influence, develop, and maintain strong relationships. • Well organised and great attention to detail. • Ability to price projects and manage cash flow • Knowledge of South African Engineering standards. • Should be familiar with and understand the OHS Act. • Be able to design solar PV plants using Helioscope or similar PV design systems and produce detailed designs with BoQ using AUTO CAD or similar to produce GA’s and SLD’s. • Ability to develop and manage project budgets. • Strong leadership skills. • Must have own vehicle and driver’s license. • Willing to travel and work outside normal hours • Willing to be away from home for extended periods of time for projects. • Excellent customer service skills. • Strong presentation skills.
