· · Understand the Application portfolio landscape of the Western Cape Government (WCG) · Work closely with Development and Enterprise Architecture teams for solution design, architecture, and application alignment. · Provide solution architecture guidance to various application development teams. · Conducting interviews with key role-players within the various departments to further understand their business processes, needs, and challenges. · Conducting feasibility studies. · Preparing business cases and conducting an initial risk assessment. · Conducting solution assessments and validation. · Conducting presentations of the deliverables for playback to the Business. · Conducting playback sessions with the Business to ensure that the information extracted from the business documents and through the interview process are correct. · Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements. · Produce process flow analysis and process redesign documents. · Share best practices and be consultative to teams and clients. · Collaborate with Technical Architects / Technology Managers and Application development Managers to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements. · Provide current best practices and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document in alignment with WCG standards and application portfolio roadmaps. · Participate and lead, when needed, project meetings with the customer. · Participate in internal projects as required. · Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools. · Strong presentation and communication skills. · Good Knowledge of Cloud Solutions, Services, Cloud development. · Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs. · Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture, mobile application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints. · Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities. · Should have participated in and be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Agile project management methodologies. · Proven Solutions consulting experience in large enterprises. Requirements Requirements · Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering and/or Information Systems and/or Information Technology and/or related. · Minimum of 7 years’ experience with Microsoft and/or Oracle and/or AWS as a solutions architect. · Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) & · Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
