Sommelier - Hazyview
Key Responsibilities:
Curate and manage the lodge's wine cellar, ensuring a diverse and high-quality selection.
Conduct wine tastings and provide expert recommendations to guests based on their preferences and menu choices.
Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop wine pairings that complement seasonal menus.
Maintain inventory, manage stock rotation, and oversee wine purchasing within budget guidelines.
Train and educate lodge staff on wine knowledge and service techniques.
Ensure adherence to alcohol service laws and regulations, promoting responsible drinking practices.
Uphold the lodge's standards of hospitality and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sommelier in a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality environment.
Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and beverages, including regions, varietals, and vintages.
Strong sensory evaluation skills and ability to discern quality and characteristics of wines.
Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to engage and educate guests effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under pressure.
Certification from a recognized sommelier program (e.g., Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET) preferred.
