The Ingrain Procurement Team is seeking a dynamic and experienced Specialist: Procurement Governance, Performance, and Capability Development to join our Procurement Department. The Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement governance frameworks, performance management systems, and capability development programs to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment within the procurement function. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing procurement effectiveness, optimizing processes, and building procurement capabilities to support the company's growth objectives. Role Outputs In collaboration with the Head of Procurement, develop and implement procurement governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and ethical standards of Barloworld Ingrain. Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and dashboards to track procurement performance, measure compliance, and identify areas for improvement. Conduct regular audits, reviews, and assessments of procurement processes, contracts, and supplier relationships to ensure adherence to governance standards and to mitigate risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Finance, and Compliance, to align procurement governance practices with corporate policies and objectives. With the guidance of the Head of Procurement, lead the design and implementation of procurement performance management systems, including goal setting, performance appraisal, and recognition programs to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Develop and deliver in conjunction with the Human Capital support team for Leadership and development, training programs, workshops, and learning initiatives to build procurement capabilities, enhance skills, and foster a culture of excellence within the procurement team. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to procurement professionals on best practices, process improvements, and performance management techniques. Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and efficiency gains within the procurement function, leveraging technology and digital tools where applicable, and available. Monitor industry trends, benchmarking data, and emerging best practices in procurement governance, performance management, and capability development to drive innovation and continuous improvement. Collaborate with senior leadership to communicate procurement performance, initiatives, and achievements to key stakeholders and drive alignment with organizational goals. Requirements for the Role A matric or Grade 12 equivalent NQF Level 4. Degree or equivalent in Finance, Procurement Legal or related field. Proven experience in procurement governance, performance management, or capability development roles, preferably in a complex organization or multinational company. Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 27001, GDPR). Experience designing and implementing procurement performance management systems, KPIs, and dashboards to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute initiatives to drive procurement effectiveness, optimize processes, and build capabilities. Certification in procurement, project management, or related disciplines (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, PMP) is a plus.
