Specialist Product Cost Engineer - South Africa

Aufgaben Objective of the job: This position includes the cost calculation of local purchased parts as well as support on various projects. Furthermore, this position requires analysis of the local market to explore further localisation possibilities. The input of the Product Cost Engineer is required through the complete life cycle from early project phase into Change Management during Series Production and MOPF. Main Tasks: Responsible for Cost Calculations for local purchased components for the Plant. Collaborate with Purchasing, Suppliers, PCE Germany and the Plant to generate measures for material cost efficiency. Evaluate and report local content value on both car and component level. Analyse local markets to explore further localisation possibilities and support business case decisions on components purchased. Initiate continuous improvement activities to improve efficiency and quality of processes. Lead interdisciplinary projects on cost optimizations. Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Knowledge of the Automotive Supplier Landscape in South Africa. Knowledge of the Automotive Technology and components. Ability to use various cost calculation methodology. Excellent Negotiation Skills. Willingness to work in a diverse and international working environment. Willingness to learn German Language. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the Automotive industry, with a very good knowledge within the following areas: Product Costing and Quality, Technical Sales / Procurement. Qualifikationen Min. Bachelors Qualification (NQF Level 7) in Engineering / Business Science / Management Economics At least 6 months participation on our MBSA Graduate Development Programme.
