A well-established healthcare step-down rehabilitation hospital is looking for a Speech Therapist to join their team. In this role, the successful candidate will evaluate, diagnose and treat acquired communication disorders and dysphagia in the adult population (inpatient/outpatient / acute therapy services). Develop individualized home programs for patient discharge while also providing training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals. Perform video fluoroscopic swallowing studies and home visits where required. Work closely with an interdisciplinary team. You'll need to be passionate about helping others, with a strong desire to make a real difference in your patients' lives. You'll also need to be able to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions to help your patients achieve their goals. Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing these issues, Work closely with the patients and their families to design effective treatment plans, Available to answer any questions and provide education on speech disorders and available therapies, Strong written and spoken English language skills, Keep detailed records, write reports, and make phone calls to ensure seamless care for my patients. Degree in Speech and Language therapy. 0-2 years' experience post-completed community service Current HPCSA registration with an up-to-date CPD status Special interest / growing interest in adult neurological rehabilitation Experience working with patients in an acute hospital setting, rehabilitation centre and outpatient basis is advantageous. Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by the date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination is required
