Purpose Of The Job: One of the worlds most respected Aircraft Manufacturers (Light Aviation), require a knowledgeable and experienced Spray Shop Polisher, to join their amazing Team Key Responsibilities: Execute plan as per daily polishing schedule and ensure consumables needed is ordered prior to start of daily tasks Preparing aircraft components for paint application/touch up by means of masking, sanding, buffing, and polishing Inspect all components for any damages or defects before and after the polishing process to ensure that there are room for failures post polishing Buff and polish all components to a high gloss level using specialized tools and equipment Remove scratches, swirl marks, and other imperfections from the painted surface and ensure compliance within Sling Aircrafts quality standards Apply wax, sealants, and other protective coatings to enhance the appearance and longevity of the aircraft components finish Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks Ensure adherence and completion of traceability document upon start and completion of any component Keep all equipment and areas clean Ensure all Hazardous waste (solid and liquid) is stored and handled correctly. To maintain and uphold a high level of housekeeping in accordance with the company’s 5s policy Ad-hoc tasks and duties may be assigned to you from time to time by a member of Spray Shop management Essential Requirements: Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write and speak the language The ideal candidate must have a minimum of a year of hands-on experience and be able to produce a high quality of workmanship in relation to the polishing process and all other supporting processes from start to finish Experience and understanding of the various polishing techniques such as rotary, manual flatting, orbital or dual action polishing Must be Flexible, adaptable and demonstrate a sound up-to-date knowledge of the polishing process Time management is a must Must be able to stand for long hours and lift heavy equipment from time to time Must be able to do simple mathematic calculations mentally and utilize a scale to mix paints as required Only candidates that meet the criteria will be shortlisted and contacted If you have not heard from us within 14 days from submission of your CV to us, you can assume you have not been successful Only candidates with Automotive Industry experience will be considered and contacted unless otherwise stipulated If you are interested and have the required SKILLS and EXPERIENCE according to the job spec, please UPLOAD your current, updated CV on our Website using the following link: https://selectmotor.co.za/job-application/ For further information please feel free to contact Debbie at Select Motor Recruitment 011 615 7747 Applications should be submitted no later than Monday 26 February 2024 Apply Now
