Who are we looking for? Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join their team based in Melrose Arch, JHB. They are seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, with experience working in the financial services industry. The SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database systems to support our business operations. This role will involve working closely with our IT team and other stakeholders to ensure that our database systems are efficient, secure, and reliable. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain database systems Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, and other techniques Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Ensure data security and integrity by implementing best practices and protocols Troubleshoot database issues and perform root cause analysis Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments in database technologies Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Proven work experience as a SQL Developer or similar role Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts Experience with database design and development tools (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong communication and teamwork abilities Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the financial services industry Certification in database development or administration Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes Familiarity with NoSQL databases Apply Now
