Stock Controller (Steel) - South Africa
Job Tile: Packer (Steel) Location: Germiston, Gauteng Salary: Market-Related Duties: Maintain precise records of incoming and outgoing steel materials and components, including raw materials, finished products, and supplies. Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply for production and customer orders. Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and address any discrepancies. Collaborate with purchasing teams to reorder materials and supplies as needed. Receive incoming shipments of steel materials, inspecting and verifying quantities and quality. Organize storage areas for efficient and safe storage of steel materials and products. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and consumption patterns for analysis. Work closely with production, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely deliveries. Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment. Requirements: Previous experience in inventory management or stock control, preferably in steel fabrication. Knowledge of steel materials, components, and fabrication processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management. Proficiency in inventory management software and systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Effective communication and collaboration abilities. Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Forklift operation and materials handling experience preferred. Flexibility to work varied hours and overtime as needed. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management or logistics preferred.
