The successful candidate will be a Store Controller, reporting to the Lodge Manager.

The duties of a store controller are vital to the successful running of our business. Correctly following the controls and procedures can be instrumental in financial success of the department. Running out of stock can have a huge impact on a guests stay, while losing stock can have a huge impact on the financial success of the lodge.

OUTPUTS:

  • Complete dockets from services and pre-lists
  • Issue and record stock issued into bars from dockets completed
  • Process on PAN
  • Accurately record and report on cost per head / sales per head / variances
  • Maintain established par stocks
  • Complete orders required
  • Receive and record deliveries
  • Update price lists and communicate changes to relevant people
  • Ensure stock is being rotated correctly first in, first out
  • Maintain a spotless working environment
  • Attend weekly GRS meetings
  • Assist with weekly training projects
  • Stocktakes
  • Host dinner service when required, according to FoH Hosting Roster
  • Assist in maintaining a healthy working relationship with suppliers
  • Process GRVs and orders for kitchen stock onto PAN
  • Price comparison analysis across F&B suppliers quarterly

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • A solid understanding of Excel and finance
  • Be able to manage budgets, GPs and finances
  • Drinks service
  • Valid South African Drivers license

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Be feedback fit
  • Always put guests first
  • Be conscientious and proactive in your work
  • Ability to communicate
  • Computer literacy essential

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in the lodge environment essential.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work under pressure, friendly, helpful, good team player, efficient and flexible.
