South Africa's leading Waste management firm is seeking a progressive Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join their team in JHB. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing strategically identified procurement Categories to maximise their contribution to company performance. In order to be considered for this role you must meet the following requirements: Matric Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field 5 to years' experience within a technical Category management position, within a technical field. Contract management. Knowledge of Procurement best practices, Strategic Sourcing, B-BBEE legislation Advanced MS Office Skill, Especially Excel Valid drivers licence and own vehicle The duties of this position entail (but not limited to): Manage the procurement Categories related to waste management services ensuring cost-effective sourcing strategies. Drive sustainable procurement practices Develop and implement procurement strategies for specified Categories to optimise costs and drive efficiency. Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify potential vendors and negotiate favorable terms and contracts. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and provide procurement solutions to meet those needs. Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contracts, and address any issues or discrepancies as needed. Drive sustainable procurement practices by promoting environmentally friendly products and services. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement. Be the preferred contact person for strategic suppliers. Understands and challenges current and future business needs including demand management. Supports the deployment of global category strategies. Conduct risk assessments and produce mitigation plans on demand/ supply of goods and services. Share best practices and innovation with the business. Lead the RFQ process for strategic procurement categories.
