Structural Draughstman - Cape Town City Centre
Hiring: Structural draughtsman (CT)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure projects are documented within guidelines set by supervisor
• Produce efficient, high quality drawings and documentation
• Ensure tasks are completed to program
• 3D Modelling and detailing
• Quality audit on outgoing drawings
• Use office systems relevant to tasks
• Ensure appropriate technical and drawing standards and quality procedures are maintained on all projects
• Participating in office technical discussions and project delivery meetings
• Mentor, train and provide technical support to junior staff
• Coordination of multi-disciplinary work on projects
• Communicate with clients, suppliers and other offices
• Prepare bills of quantities
• Compile reinforcing bending schedules
• Maintain a high level of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) and modelling expertise and engineering knowledge
• Assist Engineers with research and innovation
• Assist Project Managers and engineers with site queries and reporting solutions
REQUIREMENTS:
• National Diploma (Civil Engineering or equivalent)
• Experience working on major building projects
• Minimum 5 years structural draughting experience in concrete and structural steel
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software
• REVIT Structures proficiency
• Reinforcement Detailing experience
• BIM360 experience
• Understand the use and importance of standards in the application of software tool
