Tawana Hotazel Mining (Pty) Ltd and SebiloResources(Pty)Ltd Mine engage in exploring, mining and, processing, of manganese material in the Northern Cape area. The Engineering Superintendent will provide a specialised technical support and expertise for the Engineering Services function. They will be assisting with modifications, projects, studies, and plans to meet business objectives. SHEQ Compliance Promote and assure adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures. Identify unsafe and hazardous situations. Diagnose incidents and accidents by completing root cause analyses and take corrective action. Conduct risk assessments. Stop work in unsafe areas. Implement compliance requirements. Communicate compliance changes. Planning, Leading and Controlling Support and participate in sub-functional change management to drive transformation and optimisation. Drawing from own experience or vocational knowledge, identify and recommend initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improved productivity and reduce operating costs within scope. Manage operations and activities of the engineering function within area of control. Obtain, check and refine information. Collate and submit reports. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot-checks. Monitor the execution of asset care activities. Ensure operational plan is implemented. Asset Care & Maintenance Monitor maintenance and repairs. Provide support and assistance to the department. Monitor maintenance, installations and repair of electrical equipment and power supply units and lines on planned maintenance and break down work orders. Identify recurring problems and derive creative solutions involving team members or using own vocational knowledge and experience. Initiate and conduct the root cause analysis in line with procedure to extend mean tie between failures. Produce procedures and processes as remedial action/outcome and implement in own are and recommend to planned maintenance system to be updated for changes required. Cost Planning and Management Assist with compilation of maintenance of maintenance budget and submit for approval Identify and develop cost-effective processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost drivers. Continuously review cost vs. benefit and report recommendations. Conduct root cause analysis of machinery failures and regular high cost replacements to address asset performance problems and / or to reduce cost. Identify cost savings initiatives and implement where possible while still meeting department objectives People Management Supervise and plan subordinate activities to ensure effective task execution and departmental operations. Supervise subordinates' key performance areas by setting and monitoring performance standards and taking actions to correct deviations to achieve the section's objectives Manage training of subordinate's against development plans and performance contract. Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Manager or direct supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 certificate or relevant national NQF level qualification. Certificate Trade Test Artisan Code 08 (B) Driver's License Technical Knowledge and Skills Supervising maintenance employees in a mining environment Communication skills Root-Cause Analysis skills Planning and Evaluation Skills Proficiency in Microsoft office products Driver's license Experience 5 Years' Experience in a Maintenance Environment in Mining. 2 Years Supervisory Experience in a Maintenance Environment in Miningnce
