POSITION: Supervisor: Supplier Management JOB GRADING: C-Upper DEPARTMENT: Commercial Services SITE: South Deep Gold Mine The Supervisor: Supplier Management is accountable for monitoring and facilitating the maintenance of ethical and effective supplier practice aligned to the Gold Fields Environmental, Social and Governance Procurement policies and procedures. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 qualification or equivalent Relevant tertiary qualification A minimum of 5 years' procurement experience comprising at least 3 years in a mining supply chain environment 2 years' supervisory experience Proven track record and intermediate proficiency in mining procurement Environmental, Social and Governance practice Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant's suitability for employment Key Competencies: Proven track record in safety leadership Proven track record in effective negotiating and contracting skills Intermediate knowledge and application of regulatory and legislative frameworks pertaining to procurement and ESG Intermediate knowledge of procurement commercial processes and application of tender and contracting compliance Sound interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong business relationships through ongoing engagement and collaboration Proven diagnostic, problem-solving and decision-making skills Strong planning, prioritisation and organisational skills High level of personal motivation, established work ethic and attention to detail communication and interpersonal skills Duties and Responsibilities: Participate in and lead operational safety, health, environmental and risk management campaigns Lead and supervise team ensuring effective task assignment and delivery and, take necessary actions to enhance team and individual performance Participate in and lead interventions to develop and refine the continuous improvement of ethical supplier practice and conduct standards aligned to the Gold Fields Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) procurement guidelines Monitor supplier adherence to regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and responsible sourcing practices and initiate remedial actions or escalations to ensure compliance Conduct audits to monitor and report on supplier compliance with contractual agreements, quality standards, and sustainability requirements and initiate remedial actions or escalations to ensure compliance Collaborate with suppliers to develop and promote emission reduction tactical approaches such as energy efficiency improvements, renewable energy sourcing, and sustainable transportation Screen potential suppliers according to set guidelines as a means to determine their commitment to responsible business practices, ethical sourcing, and social responsibility Collect, analyse, and report on responsible procurement metrics to track progress and make recommendations aimed at addressing areas for improvement Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate and share operational sustainability standards and interventions and, gather their input and support Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and operational stakeholders to ensure that mutual needs are understood and efficiently and effectively managed Promote supplier diversity initiatives to enhance the organization's inclusivity and social responsibility drive Closing Date: 08 April 2024 Please note that the Gold Fields code of conduct strictly prohibits the exchange of any payment as part of its recruitment process.
