Supplier Quality Auditor (Permanent) - South Africa
Brief Role Description
To manage all functions of the SQA (Supplier Quality Auditor) in line with the “Group” Standards and Formel-Q Strategy by ensuring that all company suppliers are evaluated, compliant and supply according to company Group Africa specified requirements. To manage and support the company Sub-Sahara and local content strategies by actively participating and ensuring that focus is applied to strategic suppliers to
grow the supplier base in Sub-Sahara and that the correct strategic decision is made in the Local and Central Sourcing Steering Committees (LSC / CSC) to support the localisation project programmes
Possible Tasks within this Role
• Evaluate the suppliers Quality Process and Product Management System; Manage, support, and guide the supplier’s management team.
• Compile detailed Audit Reports of all findings from the Audited / evaluated Suppliers.
• Advise and support all new proposed and existing Suppliers in their planning and implementation of Production and Quality Systems.
• Support and drive the suppliers in the evaluation of their corrective action programs resulting from the Process and Product Audits (VA), Sub-Supplier Management (ULM), Technical Revisions (TRL), Potential Analyses (POT), and Problem Analyses (PA).
• Manage all agreed corrective actions developed with new Brownfield/Greenfield suppliers and liaise with the company Internal stakeholders to agree on the suppliers and component developments synergies supporting the New Project sourcing deadlines.
• Manage and evaluate suppliers in the SSA regions and update the Group system ISQAD timeously with the outcome of the Audit Activities.
• Manage and support the VWGA synergies by auditing suppliers for MAN, Scania and Amarok and provide detailed Audit Reports.
• Ensure the correct Audit ratings and Quality status from the Suppliers are entered into GAS-TI.
• Be actively involved in making strategic recommendations for the nomination of suppliers to support the LSC/CSC localisation programs.
• Manage and drive the Quality Technical Requirements (QTR), establish the risk classifications for the prioritization of A, B and C components in line with your specific product Group released part in line with the Group requirements.
• Escalate RED TRL’S (Technical Reviews), Poor Project Related status, Poor Supplier deliver & part Quality performance to Cross functional divisions and drive the corrective actions with their support to improve the compliance.
• Manage the VWGA Organisational all Level 3 (Supplier and Part supply disruptions) in the Group TOP-Q escalation meetings for specific released product group parts.
Qualification requirements
A National Diploma or degree in an Engineering field (Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Polymer).
Experience needed
• 5 years Part Quality experience in the automotive industry.
• Field experience within the company Supplier, Quality network.
• Experience and understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and VDA QMC (Quality Management Systems)
Essentials
• Ability to communicate at all levels.
• Presentation-, report writing-, training skills.
• Strong Leadership- and conflict management skills.
• Ability to plan and co-ordinate Engineering activities.
• A working knowledge of statistical techniques and Quality tools
• Proven abilities in problem solving through Quality Core Tools such as 8D, FMEA ‘s and Control Plans.
• Computer literate (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• In-depth knowledge of component testing/development.
• Read and interpret specific part specifications.
• This job function entails extensive travel and travel at short notice when required
Added Advantage
• Valid auditor qualification such as EOQ / VDA 6.3.
• Experience or clear understanding of Auditing and Auditing Mythologies.
• Having a broad knowledge of Group Systems, Formel-Q Philosophy and Robust manufacturing processes in the different technology/product groups
