Durban - A dynamic and growing organization in the printing industry, currently seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Supply Chain Head. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the commercial aspects of the business and ensuring the implementation of effective strategies. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Directors, Financial, Sales, and Production teams, ensuring streamlined coordination. External engagement involves building effective relationships with suppliers, clients, and the Transport and Distribution Company, contributing to our overall success. Your adept relationship management will be instrumental in driving our commercial initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Estimating and Pricing: Spearhead accurate and timely quoting aligned with organizational objectives. Evaluate and enhance pricing models in comparison to industry competitors. Drive productivity and consistency within the Estimating team. Procurement: Oversee procurement activities, negotiating competitive pricing, and fostering key supplier relationships. Implement optimal practices for a streamlined Just-In-Time (JIT) stock system. Collaborate with production and sales to optimize procurement and stock management. Stock Management and Reporting: Manage raw material and finished goods stock in accordance with budgetary constraints. Direct warehouse functions to ensure seamless support for uninterrupted production. Conduct regular analyses of job costs, consumable usage, and stock write-offs. Despatch: Direct and oversee the accuracy and timeliness of product deliveries. Implement stringent quality measures for materials before dispatch. Contracts and Tenders: Review and ensure compliance of contracts with relevant standards. Develop and maintain an efficient contract and tender process. B.E.E. Scorecard – Enterprise and Supplier Development: Manage aspects related to B.E.E. with guidance from the Group B.E.E. Steering Committee. Assess suppliers for alignment with B.E.E. requirements. Business Improvement and Projects: Evaluate business processes, identify areas for enhancement, and implement strategic solutions. Manage projects aimed at driving departmental productivity. People Management: Assist in implementing processes for succession planning, talent management, and training. Adhere to headcount and payroll budgets. Resolve conflicts and provide coaching and mentorship. Communication: Cultivate open and effective communication with stakeholders. Share knowledge to fulfill customer requirements. Provide accurate and timely reports to relevant parties. Competencies Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Management, or Cost Accounting. Experience: 5–10 years in a similar role, with expertise in estimating management, financial analysis, and business processes. Skills: Project management, printing knowledge, financial administration, business acumen, and leadership.
