Reference: JHB000897-Nires-1Leading company in the manufacturing sector requires an experienced Supply Chain Lead. This position is based in Johannesburg South. The incumbent will work closely with other departments in the business including planning, sales and manufacturing in facilitating the achievement of production objectivesThe incumbent will be responsible for the seamless coordination of raw materials, systems and data from procurement through to completion of the final productExperience in the packaging industry will be an advantageThe key responsibilities of the position include:Sourcing suppliers and procuring goods and services including board, consumables and managing the supplier databaseWorking with the production planner in forecasting, distribution -, supply - and materials planningEstablishing inventory strategies for purchasing and coordinating the scheduling and planning responsibilities in collaboration with all stakeholdersAssisting with sales with sales forecasting and the management of back ordersManaging and controlling inventory to agreed parametersManaging all supply chain functions on the ERP system in a timely manner, including leading and driving the electronic completion of SOP’sManaging, leading and driving the electronic supply and reconciliation of SOPs Ensuring continuous communication and collaboration of forecasting and inventory management data with key stakeholderAnalysing daily and weekly plans and attending production meetings to advise and discuss with managementMonitoring, reducing and eliminating procurement related stock-outs to productionMaintaining an accurate filing system on supplier communication including stock samples, specification sheers, price lists and other ad hoc communicationTo be considered for the position, the incumbent should ideally meet the following essential criteria:A suitable tertiary qualification at NQF 5 level in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or similarSuitable proven experience (minimum 5 years) in a printing and or packaging manufacturing environment. Folding Carton Packaging for the pharmaceutical and or food industries would be advantageousThorough understanding of printing processes and principles are essentialExperience with the maintenance of ISO, FSSC and HACCP standards would be preferable, whilst practical exposure to at least one of these or similar systems is essentialComputer literacy in the Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of bespoke ERP/MRP softwareTangible performance improvement record by application of for example Lean/Six Sigma principles in problem solving, maximizing of efficiencies and operational capabilitiesGood interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills together with the ability to build and maintain relationshipsProficiency in written and spoken English together with the ability to interact at Senior Level in the CompanyA meticulous work approach with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailGood report-writing skillsExcellent time management skills together with ability to work according to strict deadlines on a continuous basisExcellent co-ordination and administrative abilitiesProfessional in manner and appearanceOwn transport with a valid driver’s license Monthly plus Basic salary Apply Now
