Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Surveyor Grade 2 to be placed at Ivan Plats Platreef mine, in Mokopane, Limpopo. The successful candidate will report to the Project Manager. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to: · Effective daily team supervision · Effective survey and valuation services to support mine performance · Identify survey data needed for shaft equipping work as per daily planning schedule · Verification of survey measures via internal checking processes · Draught layouts and DME plans · Update and maintain shaft survey plans · Monthly and daily survey measurements and reporting · Survey layouts in conjunction with planning · Proactive identification and mitigation of mine survey risks · Self and team understand and comply with M&RC's policies, procedures, standards, and safety protocols · Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC's values Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills : · Grade 12 or equivalent · Chamber of Mines Elementary Surveying Certificate · Valid Medical certificate of Fitness · Good English written and verbal communication skills · MS Office proficient [MS Projects, Excel] · Valid driver's license · Proficiency in mining software [Microstation/ Micromine/ Deswik] – Advantageous · Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: · At least 4 years of underground mine surveying experience associated with shaft sinking and equipping of shafts as well as station cutting and loading box excavations. · Experience integrating survey data for effective mine planning and maximization of production and resources · Experience in mine valuation and sampling · Experience interpreting plans and plotting tape and offset measurements on a plan with sound knowledge of layouts and excavation design preparations All appointments will be done in line with our employment equity strategy.
