REQUIREMENTS: - Matric, Culinary Diploma preferred
- Preferably +/- 4 years previous experience in a senior chef role
- Work experience as a Sushi Chef or at an Asian restaurant
- Good knowledge of various sushi types and sushi-rolling techniques
- Own transport with valid drivers license
- Ability to work both fast and accurately
- Leadership and management skills
- Able to work in a team
- Basic computer skills (word, excel, outlook)

DUTIES:- Creating & preparing a rich sushi menu with various main ingredients and raw fish (for example, salmon, tuna, unagi)
- Prepare appetizers, soups and salads that are close to the philosophy of Japanese cuisine
- Manage and lead the kitchen staff in head chefs absence
- Coordinate with our wait staff to ensure proper cooking, considering special requests and food allergies
- Provides guidance & training to junior kitchen staff members, including but not limited, to line cooking, food preparation and dish plating
- Supervises all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
- Oversee and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients, including proper dating and quality assurance
- Improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
- Works with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability and training opportunities
- Monitor and maintain hygiene and health and safety principles
HOURS:- 5 Days a week (Shift work)
