Sustainability & Energy Reduction Consultant - Cape Town Region
Job title: Sustainability & Energy Reduction Consultant for the Hospitality industry Our client, based in the United Kingdom , is looking for a talented and experienced South African to join their team as a Sustainability & Energy Reduction Consultant to join their team. This position is fully remote . This position is ideal for an individual with prior experience in sustainability and energy reduction , along with relevant qualifications, aiming to advance their career in sustainability and energy efficiency. About the Company: The company specializes in energy and sustainability, dedicated exclusively to the hospitality industry . Serving a diverse client base, ranging from single-site operators to some of the largest hospitality businesses in the UK , including pubs, restaurants, hotels, and stadiums, they are at the forefront of fostering sustainability in places where people dine, drink, sleep, or seek entertainment. The company is currently seeking a junior or mid-level Sustainability & Energy Reduction Consultant to join their team. The ideal candidate shares the company's passion and preferably possesses firsthand experience in the hospitality sector . As the company operates without a physical office, employees work either remotely from home or visit client sites and offices. Therefore, the candidate must be self-motivated, comfortable with remote work, and have a suitable home environment. The Role: In this position, the candidate will collaborate with the Senior Sustainability Consultant , assisting in supporting and leading clients in their sustainability and net-zero aspirations. Responsibilities include establishing and quantifying impacts, implementing changes, and reporting progress. Key Responsibilities: Collaborating with businesses to achieve sustainability and carbon targets Compiling and analyzing business data Measuring Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions Preparing reports and delivering presentations Researching potential sustainability solutions Proposing strategies and goals Advising on standards and protocols Building relationships, particularly with clients and their teams Attending meetings with clients Experience needed: Relevant degree in sustainability, environment, or energy management . Developing and implementing sustainability and carbon strategies Working closely with clients to gather information and understand practices Carbon foot printing for Scope 1, 2, and 3 activities Crafting compelling reports and presentations Monitoring and targeting Understanding carbon standards and disclosure schemes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Carbon and energy compliance (e.g., ESOS & SECR) Conducting energy and sustainability surveys Utilizing energy and carbon reduction technology Implementing employee behaviour change programs The position fully remote (working remotely from South Africa for an international company) Location: South African based Salary: R30 000-R40 000 depending on experience Starting date: As soon as possible.
