An External Vacancy exists for a System Administrator in the Investigations Division

The suitable candidates main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for the upkeep, and reliable operation of Online Risk Manager/CiiMS and other relevant systems and the performance, integrity and security of the databases
  • Project Management for systems-related projects
  • Capacity Planning
  • Performance Management (system)
  • Report & Dashboard Building and maintenance
  • Liaison with Online Intelligence and other relevant system software suppliers
  • Client liaison with statistical/report requirements
  • Relevant systems user access, control, scoping and administration
  • Relevant systems user training
  • Relevant systems demonstrations
  • Manage relevant system software licenses
  • Liaison with BPC IT with installing and maintaining server
  • VIP/Vetting Import
  • Standalone system quotes for Tender
  • Create localities for all Divisions daily
  • Liaison with other BPC Divisions with Online Risk Manager/CiiMS and managing implementation
  • Data clean ups

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

  • Degree in computer science and general information technology
  • Minimum of two years experience in systems administration
  • Experience in working with customers in a help desk, customer service or client liaison capacity
  • Experience in project management will be advantageous;
  • Experience as trainer/training facilitator will be advantageous;
  • Experience in dealing with crime information, will be advantageous;
  • Well versed in observing and assessing crime information
  • Experience/training in Online Risk Manager, CiiMS Pro/Analyst Notebook will be advantageous;
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills (fully bilingual); The applicant must have a professional demeanour
  • Dependable, work independently, meticulous and precise (number accuracy is imperative)
  • Must have a technical and organised mind
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets;
  • Report writing/presentation skills;
  • Required to travel and work overtime from time to time;
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
  • Must be willing to undergo a polygraph test and background check;
  • Own transport
