Systems Analyst - Pretoria

Responsibilities
  • Review of business requirements to understand the business and stakeholder expectations.
  • Revision of architectural documentation to understand the solution landscape within the technical architecture.
  • Write and review of recommendations based on verified and validated requirements.
  • Write, review and presentation of solution documentation.
  • Implementation of continuous improvement strategies and best practices.
  • Write, review and presentation of epic, feature, user stories, business processes and process flows.
  • Write, review and presentation of project documentation including (but not limited to) Functional Design Specification, Recommendation Documentation, Detail Design Documentation, API Documentation. Strong modelling skill required with great attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of the business capability / user journey, wider organizational goals, and desired product business outcomes.
  • Analysis of SOAP and REST service specifications.
  • Creation of REST Swaggers.
  • Testing of developed solutions.
  • Knowledge of HP quality Centre to manage and monitor defects.
  • Professional conduct at client, developing professional relationship with key stakeholders.
  • Agile software development environment and methods, e.g. Scrum, and Kanban
  • User and technical acceptance test design, execution, and validation.
  • Technical planning experience with development team and overseeing the delivery.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Preferably software development background.
  • Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products and modelling tools (draw.io, Enterprise Architecture, etc).
  • Co-ordinate activities with the development team and other teams with regards to interfaces.
  • Functional requirements gathering and analysis, ensuring business requirements and expectations are met, and that all possible scenarios are covered.
  • Conduct functional specification walkthroughs with developers and to monitor the development progress in order to meet deadlines.
  • Facilitate Client-walkthroughs JAD sessions and sign-off of Functional Specification with business owners to ensure business requirements have been met.

Minimum requirements
  • Applicable degree (B. Com or B.Sc.) advantageous
  • A total of 5 years relevant work experience of which at least 2 or more years is in supporting successful delivery in Business Analysis or equivalent role across full product lifecycles, from MVP to marketable products in iterations, including support transition.
