A vacancy exists in the Maintenance Department at the Ngodwana Site for an ICT & SCADA Systems Analyst reporting to the Plant Engineer . Key responsibilities: · Installation, Reception, and Configuration: - handle the installation, reception, and configuration of servers, networks, and equipment · Maintenance and Upgrades: - perform continuous maintenance and upgrades to the SCADA systems · Data Communication Monitoring: - monitor data communication · Troubleshooting: - troubleshoot PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) circuits and diagnose any malfunctions in the system · Security: - set up firewalls and ensure the security of the SCADA systems from external attacks · System Access Management: - manage system access · Project Installation: - execute project installation of SCADA systems in-house with customers in close cooperation with the project organization . QUALIFICATIONS • BSC Degree and or Higher National Diploma in Instrumentation with specialisation in DCS/SCADA related qualifications and experience. SKILLS REQUIREMENT • Proficiency in HMI (Human-Machine Interface). • Proficiency in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). • Knowledge of control systems. • Familiarity with data acquisition. • Experience with transmitters. • Understanding of logic controllers. • Familiarity with power stations. • Knowledge of SCADA systems and components. • Proficiency in SCADA software platforms (e.g., Siemens WinCC, Wonderware, Ignition). • Strong knowledge of industrial automation protocols (e.g., CDS, Modbus, OPC, DNP3). • Understanding of network design and cybersecurity principles for SCADA systems. EXPERIENCE • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the industrial environment (3 years' experience in an electrical utility company will be an advantage). • Experience in installation and configuration. • Experience in repair and replacement of communication equipment. • Experience working alongside engineers and operations personnel to maintain safety and process systems for the plant.
