What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) As an Individual Tax Compliance Officer, you'll be responsible for completing and submitting individual ITR12 & IRP6 tax returns for an allocated client base. You will review SARS assessments, prepare disputes or appeals, and upload supporting documents to SARS. Your role will also involve client billing, responding to SARS queries, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax legislation. Additionally, you'll apply for tax clearance certificates, assist with client queries, and support directors, managers, and clerks with tax-related matters. This varied role will keep you engaged and challenged while allowing you to make a meaningful contribution to your clients and the firm. For your probation period you'll be more office based but then you'll be able to work from home (granted you've got wifi and sorted for loadshedding). What you'll need To excel in this role, you will need a Grade 12/Matric certificate and a tax-specific certificate or diploma with at least five years of experience in an individual tax compliance environment is essential, with experience in the taxation of outbound and inbound expatriates being non negotiable. A background in the taxation of deceased estates and registration as a Tax Practitioner would be beneficial. You need to have workable knowledge of relevant tax legislation and it's beneficial to have experience with GreatSoft. Strong computer literacy, professional communication skills, and the ability to maintain client relations are crucial.
