A minimum of NQF 5/6 National Certificate/Diploma in Production, Manufacturing, Food Technology, or related field. 2–3 Years' working experience in a supervisory capacity in the food manufacturing industry. Willing to work shifts Description: A Dairy company is seeking a Team Leader to join their team. The Team Leader will report to the Plant Manager and the main purpose of the position is to lead the production staff to achieve production targets, quality outputs, and KPI's, while maintaining a safe and efficient operation and producing products to the required quality standards. Manage the process flow of production from raw to finished packed product. The duties will include, but are not limited to, House Keeping and Quality, including driving housekeeping, efficiency, cost control, quality, waste and safety standards in the plant, understanding and following lean manufacturing, FSSC, GMP, various audit requirements, and world class manufacturing practices, as well as being responsible for ensuring compliance to Quality policies and procedures; Health and Safety, including enforcing adherence to safety regulations in the plant to achieve a safe working environment, reporting and highlighting potential safety related issues to relevant parties, ensuring that all staff are trained in all HSE measures, and assisting in accidents and incidents investigation; Production Efficiency, including achieving OEE set daily and monthly targets and ensuring all lines are running at the recommended speeds, ensuring that the operator is competent and able to achieve targets, addressing inefficiencies and finding appropriate solutions, ensuring that all job cards and defects needing attention are recorded and reported, and ensuring traceability practices are recorded and carried out daily; and People Management, including supervising staff an coordinating all support functions on a shift to ensure production outputs are met, within the correct quality and health and safety specifications, ensuring that the manufacturing process is followed from raw to processing to packaged product, following the set production plan to ensure the right products and orders are delivered, addressing discipline issues relating to performance, quality, staff attendance, timekeeping, overtime, leave, and sick leave cycles, communicating clear objectives for your team, managing and overseeing the disciplinary process of the shift, and training employees and relevant colleagues on SOP's. Key Requirements: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of an NQF 5/6 Certificate or Diploma in Production, Manufacturing, Food Technology, or a related field. In the absence of a relevant qualification, experience in the relevant field and at the relevant level will be considered. A minimum of 2–3 years' working experience in a supervisory capacity in a food manufacturing industry and knowledge of Food Safety (FSSC and GMP requirements) is required. Must be willing to work shifts.
