Our client, a leader in their field, is looking for a Creditors Team Leader to join their growing team. Responsibilities include: Overall responsibility for the team of creditors clerks Ensuring payment deadlines for the team are met Supervising and managing a team of clerks, which includes administrative and HR-related functions Providing team members with mentorship and training Account payable functions (Creditor account functions): Reviewing creditor (supplier) reconciliations performed by creditors' clerks Ensuring that supplier accounts are paid accurately and timeously Ensuring that creditor account reconciliations are completed correctly and submitted timeously Ensuring that legislative requirements are being met, that all relevant documentation has been obtained and that payments are authorised by the relevant Managers Ensuring that payments are expensed and allocated to the correct General Ledger accounts Ensuring that correcting journals are posted on a monthly basis, and that they are accurate Signing off on documentation pertaining to the creditors account reconciliation and electronic payment Ensuring that reconciling items are followed up timeously Performing age analyses on accounts and day-end procedures Filling out creditor applications and understanding the terms and conditions involved Ensuring that all documentation is properly filed and easily accessible Operational responsibilities: Reviewing and updating price contracts Reviewing calculations of referral payments Setting up referral vendors on Syspro Monthly lease rental payments review Additional responsibilities: Liaising with operational and other enabling departments, as well as suppliers Projects, especially relating to systems Ad Hoc tasks Requirements: Matric / Grade 12 minimum requirement Degree/Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping would be advantageous Experience in an Accounts Payable, Finance or similar environment Management / supervisory experience Sound financial acumen and understanding of Accounts Payable process Good bookkeeping skills would be advantageous Advanced Excel skills Must be fluent in English with a good understanding of Afrikaans Must have an acceptable track record/performance record with regard to the technical and behavioural competencies required to perform in this position An affinity for learning new technological skills would be advantageous
