Key Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
Provide expert advice on crop selection, soil health, and plant nutrition.
Develop and implement crop management plans, including fertilization and pest control strategies.
Stay updated on the latest agronomic research and advancements in agrochemicals.
Field Activities:
Conduct regular crop walking to assess plant health, identify issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Collect and analyze soil and plant samples to determine nutrient needs and deficiencies.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of applied agronomic practices.
Research and Development:
Collaborate with research teams to develop innovative solutions for crop improvement.
Participate in field trials and experiments to test new products and techniques.
Document findings and prepare detailed reports on research outcomes.
Farmer Support:
Provide training and support to farmers on best agronomic practices.
Develop and deliver educational materials and workshops.
Build strong relationships with farmers to understand their needs and challenges.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all agronomic practices comply with regulatory standards and environmental guidelines.
Promote safe and sustainable farming practices among farmers and staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in agronomy or a related agricultural role.
Strong technical knowledge of crops, plant nutrition, and agrochemistry.
Comfortable with regular fieldwork and crop walking.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using agronomic software and tools.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel
