Technical Buyer Southern Suburbs Cape Town
Our client is looking for a technical Buyer who will be responsible for the maintenance spares of the manufacturing plant. Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a technical buyer. Must come from a FMCG Food manufacturing or Engineering background.
Salary: Depends on qualification and experience
Starting date: ASAP
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 with relevant Technical or Procurement qualification
5 years’ experience as a technical buyer
FMCG Food Manufacturing
Technical background is an advantage
Computer literacy essential, basic MS Office, Outlook (email) as well as Excel
MS Office – Excel, Word, Outlook (Excel – you must
MRP – QAD / SAP / Syspro experience
Responsibilities:
Keeping track of spares' use for maintenance
Negotiating the greatest deals (discounts) with suppliers
Creating purchase orders based on predetermined reorder levels
Updating the maintenance cost ledger with accurate data
Ordering non-stock and maintenance spares from stock
Confirming orders for spare parts and delivery deadlines
Keeping in touch with the appropriate roll players about deliveries, parts, etc.
Communicating with the engineering manager about spare parts
Submitting a completed purchase order for authorization
Placement of racks and bins for spare parts within the spare parts store
Stock counts for spare parts
Safety of the spare parts warehouse
Upkeep of the spare parts warehouse
Data collection from daily reporting on production outages
Ensuring that maintenance files are safe and maintained current
Keeping track of excess spares inventory
