Key Responsibilities
- Lead the charge in handling Request for Quotations (RFQ) processes
- Play a pivotal role in selecting and reviewing supplier performance
- Negotiate winning contracts and pricing strategies
- Ensure smooth purchasing operations from approved vendors
- Source cutting-edge products and evaluate potential new vendors
- Dive into cost analysis and spearhead cost reduction initiatives
- Monitor and tackle issues, transforming them into opportunities
- Keep all stakeholders informed of any order delays
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain or related field
- Mastery of commercial terms and conditions
- Exceptional planning, communication, and negotiation skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP systems
- Locomotive and/ or freight rail manufacturing experience - Preferable
