Reference: FRP002622-Eunic-1Our client in the food manufacture industry is looking for Technical Manager Key areas of responsibilitySystems To manage, maintain, audit, and improve all aspects of the existing food safety management systems, including retailer-specific food safety systems, religious requirements, ethical, ESG, and any other business that may be required. To manage, maintain, and improve all ancillary systems. To re-evaluate existing practices and make adjustments and recommendations to improve and/or meet new requirements. To create training programs to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all system protocols. Customers Compiling and signing off customer complaint feedback reports and drafting trend reports. Ensuring all COAs are submitted timeously. Providing a framework for investigations to allow for effective problem-solving strategies. Ensuring all customer-specific QA systems are up to date and loaded onto their internal systems. Suppliers To ensure compliance with product specifications, inclusive of supplier visits and audits, returns, or rejections. Ensuring all data required for all incoming raw materials and suppliers is up to date and within specification. NPD & Technical Projects Manage new or existing technical projects. Manage trials of new products within the factory, including compiling new documentation, shelf-life studies, organoleptic evaluations, etc. Review and approve new processes if applicable with new products and incorporating them into the existing Food Safety Management system. Assist with packaging sign-offs. General Daily monitoring of QA systems to ensure food safety and quality are met. Daily monitoring of incoming microbiological reports and/or other data to ensure compliance with specifications. Daily monitoring and providing technical support to production as needed. Compile weekly and monthly reports, including trending data, KPI stats etc. Ensure all documentation is up to date and appropriately archived. Relevant education and experience level Tertiary qualification in Food Technology or Food Science. Minimum of 5 years work experience in a management role. Valid RSA driver's license. Experience working within the Woolworths Code of Practice would be a benefit. Skillset & Computer LiteracyProficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.Good people skills; responsible for managing three staff members in the technical team.Good problem-solving skills through thorough investigation and analyses, ensuring product and brand safety at all times and developing sustainable solutions.Effective and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
