A technically inclined, process driven and practical individual that enjoys taking electronics apart and putting them back together. Take ownership and accountability for the prompt and accurate repair, testing and maintenance of handsets and other Sefeko equipment. REPAIRS AND REFURBISHMENTS Inspect components for defects and/or damages Perform quick repairs on handsets and other equipment including but not limited to: Battery replacements Replace and manage sim cards Microphone/Speaker replacements Cover refurbishments Do additional repairs on equipment as directed by the Repair Technician Prepare covers for In-house refurbishments Perform refurbishments on Sefeko equipment Salvage components from refurbished handsets Report weekly and/or monthly to manager on the status of repairs and refurbishments ASSESSMENTS AND GENERAL MAINTENANCE Assess handsets with the assessment tool Ensure correct procedures are followed when conducting assessments Diagnose equipment problems and implement innovative solutions Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Complete the burn-in cycle and monitor handsets to ensure they are charging and completed the burn-in according to specifications Document the results of assessments, UAT and burn-in on the manufacturing portal Test and inspect electrical equipment to ensure proper functioning STOCK COUNTING AND RECONCILIATION Assist with the annual and bi-annual stock counting Investigate any errors or incorrect stock tracks and states on the manufacturing portal Ensure protocol is followed when stock movements occur, and all inventory movements within the technical department are approved HOUSEKEEPING Ensure all stock is packed away in clearly marked containers and that the testing and/or repair area is cleaned daily Clean and maintain all assessment equipment A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification A background in electrical or electronics or experience in a similar role will be an advantage Basic Computer literacy Experience with Microsoft Office and inventory management systems will be an advantage The ability to organise and self-direct activities The ability to plan and get work done in accordance to specific deadlines A valid South African ID The salary is market-related and negotiable, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
