Our Client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Technical Programme Manager to join their team in Randburg on a contract basis. The Senior Principal Client Project / Programme Manager is the most senior job within the Project and Programme Management – Client Implementation job family. The incumbent within this job will lead and direct concurrent client projects classified as complex. They may also be involved in larger scale programmes and responsible for delivery across domains, business areas, geographies and technologies. The primary responsibility of the Senior Principal Client Project / Programme Manager will be to interface with all project stakeholders to take projects from original concept through to final implementation, including handing over to Operations (whether internal or to the client's support operations). He / she may take responsibility for the management of projects and programmes within more complex / partnership accounts and collaborate and engage with senior C-suite members involved in programme delivery at the client site. In this instance the Senior Principal Client Project / Programme Manager will lead the coordinated management of multiple related projects within a programme to achieve the business objectives and ensure the strategic benefits are transitioned to the client organisation. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Provide a future state oriented cultural overlay with technology staff to ensure focus on future state operating model and avoidance of historical pitfalls Ensure suitable and consistent delivery approach (both technology and general management), Drive agile IT delivery process within a waterfall programme context Component readiness for testing, especially integration testing phases Ensure component testing for all technology deliverables is completed or entry to integration testing Ensure technology plans are coherent across the programme Surface technology inter-dependencies and ensure these are delivered to across all technology component delivery Intervene and escalate where this is not the case i.e. Where project delivery is at odds with programme outcomes and escalate where otherwise Ensure an integrated plan for environment utilization for development purposes and input to test environment planning Adherence to business architecture stipulations, challenging both projects and Architecture decision-making where business outcome/delivery timeline are not optimized. Architectural accountability to programme for internally developed components with externally developed components driven only at an integration level. Take part in Design Authority as part of responsibility to drive coherence across architecture, ensuring all technology deliverables are coherent with agreed Business Architecture Facilitate business PMs in understanding the current state and challenges of all technology delivery Provide progress evidence of technology plan and delivery coherence across the projects, especially when aligning to integration test phases. Drive visibility of vendor technology component delivery through appropriate trackers, issue transparency and escalation Knowledge, Skills and Attributes: Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute projects from initiation to completion Ability to establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients Excellent client-centricity skills and ability to work at client sites Ability to manage customer satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels and manage escalations adequately Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent team-building skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments Ability to manage urgent and complex tasks simultaneously Good business acumen and commercial skills Passionate, strong initiative, self-driven with a commitment to succeed Good influencing ability whilst taking a collaborative approach Decisive with good attention to detail ability Ability to promote project services to both internal stakeholders and external clients Competent in project change management Familiarity with the industry, domain, or technology related to the client's project Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address issues that may arise during project implementation Works on issues that impact future success or addresses future concepts and products where solutions are devised based on limited information and requires judgment Academic Qualifications and Certifications: Advanced Business and / or Project Management degree or equivalent with extensive related experience Relevant project management certifications preferably PMP ITIL certification Required Experience: 5 years of experience in the IT field. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field required 5 years of experience in software development, with at least two years of experience as a technical programme manager Experience in development and delivery of complex business applications, including: web based front ends and back ends; integration with ERP systems; robust data validation and reporting; multi-language support; test automation; cloud deployment and migration Skills Summary Business Acumen, Cost Management, IT Infrastructure Management, Project Management, Quality Assurance (QA), Resource Management, Software Systems, Systems Integration, Writing Technical Documents Apply Now
