TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEMENT SPECIALIST - TEACHING AND LEARNING CENTRE Market related - South Africa

The purpose of this position is to develop Technology-Enhanced Learning activities and resources, facilitate training workshops for academic staff and students, and support the implementation of Technology-Enhanced Teaching and Learning. KEY ACTIVITIES Instructional Design. Support academics and train students in the use of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TeL) technologies. Liaise with academics and other role players. Conduct research. Perform marketing and other TLC services. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum Honour's Degree in one of the following areas: Computer-based Education, Educational Technology, Business Information Systems or Information Communication Technology, Instructional Design, Media Science, or related discipline. A Master's Degree in one of the areas mentioned above would be an added advantage. Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in the Higher Education sector, especially with regards to Teaching and Learning. Experience and Competence in instructional design and computer programming in a Learning Management System (LMS) context. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge Council on Higher Education frameworks and legislation Higher Education teaching and learning environment Curriculum development Basic financial principles MS Office Suite Extended programmes Various operating systems, file formats, file types, streaming audio and video, and compression methods Web-based learning management systems such as Blackboard or Moodle Competence in computer programming in an LMS context Competence in LMS administration and management Skills Communication Presentation Time Management Interpersonal Planning & Organising Reporting Conflict Management Research Networking Behaviour / Attributes Attention to detail Assertiveness Deadline driven Independent Self-Starter Total Remuneration Package inclusive of Benefits (Medical Aid, Pension Fund, Group Life, Housing Allowance and Study Benefits).
