Requirements Minimum educational qualification: General Education and Training Certificate (GETC) /Grade 9 (Std 7). Experience: Appropriate experience in the operating of a switchboard and a messaging and paging system. Competencies (knowledge/skills): The ability to operate switchboard equipment effectively and efficiently. Listening skills and telephone etiquette. The ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Duties (key result areas/outputs): Effective telecommunication and support service in the hospital. Handle all internal and external calls and general enquiries. Keep record of official and private calls. Ensure switchboard is in working order. Page and SMS staff via the paging and messaging system. Support to supervisor.
