RedCat Recruitment is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced THEATRE UNIT MANAGER for a large concern, position based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. JOB DESCRIPTION Grade 12. Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique or equivalent. Valid Code 08 driver’s license / own reliable vehicle. Competent computer literacy (MS Office, Email / Internet). Kronos System advantageous Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse. 5 yrs operational experience in a theatre unit. Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic Neurosurgery and or Ophthalmology will be advantageous. Previous experience in a management position will be advantageous. Knowledge of the legislative and Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Be operational as well as manage the administrative duties. Manage the theatre department Liaise and communicate with Surgeons. Management of staff / training and development. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures at all times. Manage the day-to-day problem solving. Stock and equipment management including ordering of stock and equipment. Accurate billing of stock utilized. After hours cover as per a roster. Conduct regular inspections. Maintain infection control strategies and procedures of the hospital. Evaluation, intervention and resolution of patient complaints and queries. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports. Manage ad hoc projects as and when required.
