Job Description

Our client has an opportunity for a dynamic individual to join the company in the capacity of the Import Buyer. The successful applicant will be responsible for the following:

Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiate price, and manage relationships with international vendors. Predominantly
Chinese suppliers
Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Collaborate with other departments to ensure purchase orders are confirmed/cover is booked and goods are shipped
timeously
Evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, service, and delivery
Maintain relationships with existing international suppliers and identify new supplier opportunities
Other related duties

Qualifications

Matric
Diploma in Purchasing/Supply Chain Management or Equivalent

Skills

Minimum 6 Years Experience buying
Must have solid knowledge and experience within the food and ingredients industry
Knowledgeable about HS-codes/Custom Duty
