Our manufacturing client, based in Durban, is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team. Manage scheduled and unscheduled maintenance per shift. Assist to achieve production plan per shift. Ensure that machine changeovers are done properly and within allocated time. Perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes. Train operators and assist with machine assembly, setup, and fault finding. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service. Perform mechanic skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines. Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities. Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Perform regular scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision. Start and stop compressors as scheduled by head services. Plant inspections, compilation of reports. Maintaining electrical, mechanical and instrumentation equipment. Matric. Relevant Trade Test. Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
