Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of trailers to ensure they are safe and roadworthy. The Trailer Mechanic will work closely with other members of our maintenance team to maintain our fleet and keep our operations running smoothly. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections, to keep trailers in optimal condition. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on trailer components, including but not limited to brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems. Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify any potential problems or safety concerns. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed, including parts used and labor hours. Ensure that all work is completed in compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to prioritize and complete work orders in a timely manner. Assist with other duties as needed, such as assisting with roadside repairs or performing maintenance on other types of vehicles in the fleet. Ensure that all safety inspections are completed on trailers. Good Communication and Interpersonal skills. Ability to work individually as well as part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and meet set deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment Ability to be Quality driven and focused, and have an attention to detail. Bilingual (English & Afrikaans). Completion of a trailer mechanic program or relevant certification. Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, with a minimum of 3 years in the field. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Apply Now
