A permanent position based in Bloemfontein with a listed diversified construction group. Work with subsidiaries and the talent manager to develop a medium-term strategy for the company's Training unit, and proactively drive, and deliver on agreed strategic goals including but not limited to: Create a Civils L&D platform for the development of future Civils Foremen and Site Engineers, as well as providing basic civils training on site to improve Operational Competencies. Achieve the QCTO accreditation of the Raubex Training Centre and Training Staff to conduct all training needs identified by June 2025 Manage the process required for the Raubex Training Centre to become a QCTO accredited Trade Test Facility by June 2027. Conduct continuous training and development needs assessments to identify skills gaps and areas identified for improvement. Development of annual training strategy which will include a combination of face to face, virtual, and on-demand programmes. Lead and co-ordinate the high quality and timely delivery of all initiatives, working with other internal team members, external vendors and industry stakeholders as required. Support the development of high-quality content and curricula development for new training programmes as well as processes to ensure the content is kept up to date. Drive the expansion of the current training curriculum to meet the varied learning and development needs of mid, senior and junior level professionals. Identify and secure opportunities for the company to develop bespoke training programmes for organisations in the ecosystem. Develop and maintain organizational communications, such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters, to ensure employees are aware of training and development opportunities. Develop new training opportunity business cases for consideration by the Group, as appropriate. On an ongoing basis, suggest relevant and innovative ways for the company to continue to develop and grow its Training Centre programmes. Design, build, and implement an HR training environment that supports organizational goals. Develop and maintain training documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance. Conduct training audits to ensure compliance and quality standards are met. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Minimum of 10 years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs. Certification and professional membership are not required but would be advantageous. Strong competency in various training techniques and knowledge of e-learning platforms. Demonstrated ability to interpret operational strategy and drive accountability and high performance. Excellent business acumen with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions. Proven track record of fostering teamwork and collaboration. Customer-focused mindset and a commitment to providing high-quality training solutions. Experience in nurturing and coaching employees to support their professional growth. People management experience of a small team (16 people) is required. Candidates must be prepared to travel extensively. Must be based in Bloemfontein or willing to relocate on commencement of role.
